20.9.2021 IMPORTANT MESSAGE PLEASE SHARE THIRD DOSE VACCINES FOR IMMUNOCOMPROMISED
The South West PCN is running another clinic for THIRD DOSE COVID VACCINES for immunocompromised patients this Saturday 25th September at Station Drive Surgery.
Third dose vaccines are now recommended for immunocompromised patients 8 weeks after their second dose of Covid Vaccine.
WHO IS IMMUNOCOMPROMISED?

Many patients have already been vaccinated but some patients may not be coming up in our searches PARTICULARLY PATIENTS ON STEROIDS (SEE BELOW FOR THE CRITERIA). If you think you may immunocompromised and have not been called by the practice yet for your third Covid vaccine please call us AFTER 2PM ANYDAY OF THIS WEEK.
PATIENTS WHO ARE ON PREDNISOLONE (STEROIDS)
Have you had more than 20mg prednisolone (4 TABLETS OF 5MG) per day for more than 10 days in the previous month?
Have you had more than 10mg prednisolone per day (2 TABLETS OF 5MG) for MORE THAN 4 weeks in the previous 3 months?
Have you been on a immunosuppressing medication such as methotrexate >20mg per week, azathioprine >3.0mg/kg/day, 6-mercaptopurine >1.5mg/kg/day, mycophenolate >1g/day OR A COMBINATION OF DRUGS SUCH AS Hydroxychloroquine and sulphasalazine or any immunosuppressant drug plus MORE THAN ≥7.5mg prednisolone per day?
Please call us AFTER 2PM ANYDAY OF THIS WEEK as you may be eligible for a third dose vaccine and not been called due to our searches not picking you up.
SPECIFIC ADVICE FOR PATIENTS WHO ARE CURRENTLY UNDERGOING CHEMOTHERAPY
Patients who are currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy should seek advice from their consultant or nurse specialists in order to determine the best timing for their third vaccine.
You should then email or call the practice to let us know when is the best time for your vaccine and we will do our best to fit you in.
