Latest news on the Ludlow Racecourse Vaccination Centre 22.1.2021

Good news for all our patients we can confirm that Ludlow Racecourse will indeed be opening on Monday the 1st February and would like to thank Shropshire Council’s portfolio holder for health, Dean Carroll for releasing the information early inspite of NHE’s refusal to do so. We would only like to correct one comment by Councillor Andy Boddington if we may:

“This Ludlow Racecourse will be run by Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group. Local GPs will not be involved. Vaccination in Ludlow surgeries and those across south west Shropshire will follow.”

This is incorrect. Both Dr Beanland and Dr Colebrook are already booked in to work in the Racecourse as Clinical Vaccinators in the same way as they have already been volunteering in other hubs run by the CCG such as Shrewsbury and Ludlow. We are very proud of our contribution towards this centre and we are aware of many other GPs and nurses from Portcullis who will be working at this centre in order to make sure it is a great success.

We would also like to add the vaccinations at the practice will also be starting at some point in the coming week once our vaccine delivery date and supply is released to us. We are hoping to start booking patients to our practice clinic starting on Monday.

We are all looking forward to helping the vaccination program at Portcullis, at the Racecourse and at the Church Stretton in the coming weeks and making the vaccination program in Southwest Shropshire a huge success!
