We are a three Partner Practice working with as a team of 7 GPs, 1-3 trainee GPs, 4 ANPs and 2 nurses. We cater for patients in the Ludlow area. Please see our Practice information for more details.

Dr Catherine Beanland
Senior and Business Partner

Mondays Tuesday Thursdays and Fridays
Dr Beanland is our Senior and Business Partner and has worked in the practice since 2008. Her Special Interests are Family Planning and Gynaecology as well as Medical Education. She also carries out Minor Procedures such as Joint injections, Coil insertions and Nexplanon insertions.

Dr Hazeldine joined our practice in 2022. She has a special interest in Women’s Health, Palliative Care and Medical Education. She is our lead for Safeguarding and GP Registrar Training.

Nurse Joy has worked in the practice for many years and became a partner in 2021. She has a special interest in Diabetes and Respiratory Diseases. She is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner(ANP) and our Lead Nurse.

Dr Jenny Hartley

MBChB DRCOG MRCGP

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
Dr Hartley trained as a doctor in the Army before leaving military service and joining the NHS in 2018. She has worked in Scotland and Hampshire before moving to Shropshire in 2022. She has a special interest in women’s health and sexual health but enjoys all aspects of general practice. She is able to fit Nexplanons. She is our Medical Student Lead with Keele University.

Special interest, Geriatric medicine, Paeds, Joint injections.

Dr Sally Wood

Mondays

Dr Wood qualified as a GP in 2012 and has worked in various practices around rural Shropshire and Worcestershire for over a decade. Dr Wood is particularly interested in women’s health and is able to fit coils and contraceptive implants. Dr Wood also works as the Primary Care Lead for Aston Medical School. She is married with a young son and enjoys spending time outdoors in our beautiful local area (when it’s not raining!).

Dr Nitesh Patel

Maternity Locum Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Dr Nitesh Patel qualified as a GP in 2024 and trained as a GP in Shropshire and we were lucky to have him with us as a second year Registrar, he will be working with us while Dr Hazeldine is on maternity leave.

Dr Liam Stevens qualified as a GP in 2024 and trained as a GP in Shropshire and we were lucky to have him with us as a third year Registrar, he will be working with us while Dr Hazeldine is on maternity leave.

Many problems can be dealt with by our nurses and Advanced Clinicians

Advanced Nurses and Paramedics: You can book an appt with our advanced nurses: Nurse Partner Joy Godding, Nurse Julie Shutt and Advanced Nurse Practitioner Amanda or our Advanced Paramedic Sian Woods who can consult, diagnose and treat most medical conditions.

Nurses and HCA: If you have a problem with a minor illness such as a urine infection, tummy bug, sore throats, skin infections please ask for an appointment with our NURSES Heidi and Jo.

HCAs: If you need a blood test or a dressing book with our HCAs Angie and Megan who often have appointments with shorter waiting times than Doctors or ANP/ACP.

Fridays at Portcullis Surgery
Eden is a fully trained pharmacist but has limited experience in primary care she has a clinical interest in Mental Health, Cardiovascular Targets High Risk Medication Protocols/Shared Care Agreements and MSK/Opiods. She will be doing surgeries also for General Pharmacy Queries and Eclipse.
