Prescription requests (repeat and new medication requests)
NON URGENT REQUESTS AND QUERY
If your request is not urgent you can do the following:
1. If you are registered for patient access OR the NHS app you can order them online (please see link below)
2. You can call POD on 03333 583 509 (local rate number)
4. If you cannot use online methods or email POD or the practice and/or find POD difficult to use, you can post your repeat prescription to us or hand it in to our letterbox at the front entrance of the practice. However please note that your repeat precription may not be issued for upto 3-4 days after we have received your request and pharmacies may take upto 5-7 days to process the request.
Queries about your medication
If you have a problem or a question about your medication we would recommend the following:
- Ask for a call back from our prescription query clerks (Sarah or Hayley)
- Ask for an appointment with one of our pharmacists Eden and Charlotte to discuss and review your medication.
- Ask for an appointment with the clinician (ANP or Dr) who knows you well to discuss and review your medication.
URGENT REQUESTS
If your request is URGENT please do not to come to the surgery to hand in your urgent prescription request unless you do not have another choice.
If you need a prescription repeat urgently, you should do the following:
1. You can ask your Nominated or usual pharmacist for an emergency repeat prescription by calling the pharmacy or going to your local pharmacy.

Please call your pharmacist as they may be able to deliver medication to you if you have difficulty getting to the chemist. |

3. You can call the practice or come to the frontdesk and they will try and help you as best as they can. They may arrange an urgent call back by a clinician, a pharmacist or one of our prescription clerks.

4. You can send you repeat prescription by post or put it through the letterbox at the front entrance however this method will result in a delay of 3-4 working days for our staff to manage your request.
Do you pay for your Prescriptions?
Prescriptions are free for:
- Men and women over sixty
- Pregnant women with a valid maternity certificate
- Children under sixteen or up to nineteen in full-time education
- Mothers of babies under twelve months
- People who receive income support (check list on Form P11 from Social Security or Post Office)
- People with family credit
- Certain chronic conditions
If you are not entitled to free prescriptions, a ‘season ticket’ may save you money. This is a pre-payment certificate, please ask Reception for details.
