Update 28.4.2021 Second doses

If you had your first Covid-19 vaccination 11 to 12 weeks ago, you should make sure you receive the second part of your vaccination to get maximum protection. The first dose of both the Pfizer/BioNTech and Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine offer good levels of protection, but everyone needs the second part of their vaccination to get maximum protection from COVID-19

In Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, the vast majority of people who have their 2nd dose of the Covid-19 vaccine are having it within 12 weeks of their first dose. Thankyou for your trust and confidence in the vaccination program

Please come forward for the second part of your vaccination when you are contacted or if you have an appointment booked.

Unless there are exceptional circumstances, everyone should have their second part of the vaccination IN THE SAME PLACE where they had the first part of the vaccination

If you received your first part of your vaccination in a hospital hub or through a GP service, you will be contacted to receive the second part. You do not need to contact the NHS.

People will be contacted to arrange the second part of their vaccination if they don’t already have an appointment booked.

If you have had your first Covid-19 vaccine more than 12 weeks ago (3 months ago or more) and you DO NOT HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ALREADY OR have NOT been contacted, please do the following

People who had first part of their vaccination at a hospital site, they should contact the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital booking line on 0345 678 9011.

For people who had appointments at Telford International Centre, Ludlow Racecourse and Shrewsbury Bowling Centre or a community pharmacy made via the national booking system, should call 119 or go to www.nhs.uk

For people whose first vaccine appointments was at Portcullis Practice please email us and let us know, you should only call us if you have no other way of contacting us.
