Update 7.4.2021 Aztra-Zeneca
We understand that some of you may be concerned by the statement published today regarding AZ and the possible slight increase of a rare blood clot disorder in younger people .
The current evidence is that 2nd dosages of the vaccine should be given with the SAME vaccine as before. (MHRA 7/4/2021) “all those who have had a 1st dose AZ should be offered a 2nd dose AZ irrespective of age”
If you have already had a 1st dose of AZ and are concerned about your second dose please send us an email to the duty manager portcullis.dutymanager@nhs.net and we will endeavour to answer your questions and if needed book you a telephone appt with a Dr to discuss this however we would like to state that there are NO reports of blood clots after a second dose of AZ at all so this is reassuring.
We are awaiting further guidance regarding any further 1st dose AZ in younger people so please do not call us to ask us questions about this as we will update you all as soon as we have any further information.
Many thanks Portcullis Surgery
