Update on texting invitations for Covid Boosters 6.10.2021
IMPORTANT MESSAGE please share
We have noticed a significant problem with our Covid Booster clinics.
Patients are being sent texts by us for their due date BUT they are booking in earlier clinics with other practices by mistake.
If the patients turn up to these earlier clinics they will be sent away and asked to rebook for a later date even if they have only come a day early for their booster. We know this is really upsetting and frustrating but these are not our rules and we have to follow them.
If a patient had their second dose vaccine on the 21ST april then they MUST NOT BOOK ANY EARLIER THAN THE 20TH OCTOBER for their booster.
However we are noticing that many of them have been booked or have booked themselves in to the clinic on the 16th OCTOBER with Station Drive by mistake.
If a patient had their second dose vaccine on the 23rd april then they MUST NOT BOOK ANY EARLIER THAN THE 22ND October for their booster
However we are noticing that many of them have been booked or have booked themselves in to the clinic on the 20th April at the mascall centre by mistake. They should have booked the 24th October but did not realise this was important.
Today we have had to cancel about 50 patients who were booked too early on the clinics for the 16th and 20th october, we will be calling and rebooking these patients over the next few days. We apologise for the inconvenience.
Please please if you get a text you must NOT book any earlier than exactly 180 days after their second dose. Therefore
Second dose 17th april—book booster no earlier than 16th oct
Second dose 20th april—book booster no earlier than 19th oct
From now on all texts will go out with the specific date that you can book from to minimise further errors
