Portcullis Surgery would like to wish all our patients a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
We are delighted to let you know that Dr Poppy Hazeldine has a very special arrival in the New Year as she is expecting her first baby in February 2025! She will of course be taking a break from her duties at the surgery and going on maternity leave from early January. We wish her all the best for the coming year. Dr Beanland will increase her sessions to cover her partnership duty in the new year. We have been very fortunate to cover Dr Hazeldine’s clinical sessions with two locum doctors Dr Liam Stevens and Dr Nitesh Patel who should be already well known to many of our patients.
Dr Stevens is a recently qualified GP who trained with us at the practice since August 2023, he has been working with us covering Dr Perks’ sickness leave since September and will now continue at the practice next year covering Dr Hazeldine’s maternity leave, working Mondays to Wednesdays. In addition, we are delighted to announce the return of Dr Nitesh Patel also recently qualified, who trained with us for 8 months in 2023, he will be covering Dr Hazeldine’s maternity leave working Wednesday to Fridays.
Dr Alan Perks will return in February fully recovered and rested from his scheduled operations and will be working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Dr Jenny Hartley has increased her sessions at the practice and now works Monday to Thursdays and has become our lead for medical student training and finally Dr Sally Woods will continue to work with us on Mondays in addition to her main job as GP lecturer at Aston University. Dr Beanland will remain the lead trainer for our three trainee GPs Dr Zaigham Tariq, Dr Ellie Jones and Dr Beenish Zafar.
In addition to these doctors at the surgery, we continue to be supported by our excellent ANP, APP and nursing team (ANP Joy, ANP Amanda, APP Sian, ANP Julie, Nurse Jo, Nurse Heidi and our HCA’s Megan and Angie) aswell as our team of Counsellors (Siri and Rosie) and Student Counsellors (Nadiya, Rachael and Pete) and Care Coordinators (Judith and Zoe)
