Opening Times: From Tuesday 7th May the Social Space will be open from 11am – 2pm
Refreshments:  As well as serving tea/coffee, light lunches will also be served every day from 12-1.30pm for a minimum donation of £2
Activities: A range of activities will be launched during the opening times to bring people into the Social Space.  Initially we are introducing:
‘Friendship Fridays’   This is being launched next Friday (10th May) and will take place from 11am to 2pm. The purpose is for it to be a welcoming space for those who would like some company and to get to know people.  It is open to all.  There will be volunteers there for people to chat to, various activities (dominos, cards etc) and a sandwich/cake lunch from 12 o’clock for a minimum donation of £2
‘Tech Talk’ This will take place on a Monday afternoon between 2 and 4pm with the first session being on Monday 13th May.  This will provide help with mobile phones, devices and laptops.  It will help with things like…. “I need to download an app on my phone”, “how do I send an email?”, or “what is virus protection and how do I get it?”   This is a bookable session.
‘Help Hub’ Two sessions are being offered every week:
  1. Wednesday Morning between 10am and midday . This session will provide help with on-line forms e.g. Utilities, DVLA, Council Tax, Repeat Prescriptions etc .
  1. Thursday Morning between 10am and midday.  This session will provide help with Carer’s Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Blue Badge, Bus Pass, Universal Credit and Pension Credit.

Hands Together can only achieve all this with the help and support of the local community. During the Covid 19 lockdowns the help and support they received was magnificent. Since the restrictions lifted and many of their volunteers returned to their jobs, they have been working hard to develop their volunteering opportunities and the team. They have regular and occasional volunteer roles from a day a week to a couple of hours a month and would love to hear from you. You can fill out a (non-binding!) volunteer form here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/VolApp2022 and their Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch.

Their website is full of information and What’s On news but in the meantime, if you want to sign up for their newsletter please email admin@handstogetherludlow.org.uk; follow their Facebook page @handstogetherludlow or give the Helpline a ring: 01584 873062.
