Portcullis Surgery is very proud of our amazing Dr Jenny Hartley who was invited to 10 Downing Street today in order to present the Prime Minister Sir Kier Starmar with his poppy. This marks the start of the official Annual Poppy Day Appeal.
Dr Hartley trained as a doctor in the Army before leaving military service and joining the NHS in 2018.
She was part of the British team competing at the Invictus Games in September 2023 and won 2 gold medals (100m & 1,500m running) and 2 bronze medals (400m running, 50m breaststroke swimming) aswell as being given a special memorial coin by one of the volunteer marshals for showing true Invictus spirit by supporting everyone in the team.
More recently in August 2024, Dr Hartley participated in the Dragon’s Back Race® considered to be the toughest mountain race in the world. The race starts in Conwy Castle and ends at Cardiff Castle, across a legendary multi-stage, ultra running journey down the spine of Wales.
Well done Dr Jenny and congratulations on your achievements aswell as this very well deserved honour by the Prime Minister
