Postal delivery of Repeat Prescriptions and Dosett Boxes

Our pharmacist colleagues in the areas have recently been struggling with sick leave and locum cover. In the short term, in order to reduce the pressure on local pharmacies, it may be helpful to use online pharmacy companies who deliver medications for free to your home. A carer, relative or neighbour can register as the delivery address if there are any concerns that the post will get lost.

Dosett boxes or pouches: due to short staff many pharmacies have stopped providing Dossett boxes or pouches as a service to their patients which is causing issues particularly for elderly people living alone who have difficulty remembering or sorting their medications

DO NOT USE THE PHARMACY ONLINE APPS TO ORDER MEDICATIONS AS WE DO NOT ALWAYS RECEIVE THEIR REQUESTS, ORDER YOUR MEDICATIONS THE USUAL WAY SEE BELOW FOR INSTRUCTIONS

Ordering from the online pharmacies is easy

1. STEP ONE Register with the company of your choice (SEE BELOW)
2. STEP TWO You must email the practice on portcullis.surgery@nhs.net (or call us after 2pm) to let us know who your nominated pharmacy will be:
3. STEP THREE You must order your prescriptions the usual way:
   1. online via the NHS APP only (DO NOT USE THE PHARMACY APPS AS WE DO NOT ALWAYS RECEIVE THEIR REQUESTS)
   2. by email to POD shropshire.pod@nhs.net
   3. by email to the practice portcullis.surgery@nhs.net
   4. by calling POD 03333 583 509 (local rate number)
   5. by handing in your paper prescription to the black box outside the practice.
4. STEP FOUR Expect your delivery usually 5-10 days after you ordered your prescription
