Happy 75th Birthday to our NHS!
Posted on July 4th, 2023
The 5th July 2023 marks 75 years of the National Health Service.
Happy Platinum Anniversary to the NHS!
When it was founded in 1948, the NHS was the first universal health system to be available to all, free at the point of delivery.
Today, nine in 10 people agree that healthcare should be free of charge, more than four in five agree that care should be available to everyone, and that the NHS makes them most proud to be British.
Portcullis Staff will be celebrating this milestone tomorrow with some treats for the staff at the practice and also some treats for the staff at Ludlow Community Hospital aswell as the District Nursing Team.
We are also highlighting the work of the Portcullis Practice Carers group and Portcullis Compassionate Communities befriender volunteer group under the leadership of our care coodinators Judith Sharod and Zoe Jennings- Smith.
If you would like to donate and support our volunteer and carers group please pop in to the surgery or send us a donation by post. We are accepting donations by cheque throughout the year.
Please make your cheque payable to Portcullis Surgery and enclose in an envelope for the attention of Mrs Rachel Wilding Practice manager.
Thankyou for your support and Happy 75th Birthday to our NHS!
