Welcome to our new Advanced Paramedic Sian Woods

Portcullis would like to give a very warm welcome to our new paramedic Sian Woods.

She started her career in healthcare in 2010, working for West Midlands Ambulance Service where she qualified as a Paramedic.  Since then she has gained experience in Emergency, Urgent and Primary care.

Sian was one of the first Paramedics in the UK to gain an independent prescribing qualification and she is currently working towards a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice with Chester University.

Her main specialism is acute care but she also has an interest in frailty, promoting dignity and choice within end of life care.

Sian has worked in GP surgeries in Staffordshire, Shropshire and Powys, and we are very lucky to have her joining the team at Portcullis from mid July.

In her spare time she potters in the family home in South Shropshire with  partner, young son and three sheep! She will be working on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
