Communication via text to and from the practice

“I’ve received a text message or letter from the practice about an appointment, or my health condition or my medication” 

These messages can be via SMS or email.

Patient Messaging Services are mobile messaging services that sends automated text messages to patients’ mobiles and that allows two-way interactive communications between you and the practice.

We currently use accuRx and MJOG as our system to send messages to patients as well as conventional letters.

Messaging systems are used for the following:

  • To remind you about an appointment:  The system will also allow us to send appointment reminders to patients. When you receive this text, you are given the opportunity to text back and CANCEL your appointment if it’s no longer needed.
  • To invite you to book your Covid or Flu Vaccine
  • To send targeted health information and questionnaires to individual patients, which will hopefully help to manage chronic long term conditions better, and keep medical records up to date and accurate.
  • To send you information about any medication change requested  by Shropshire CCG/NHS England policy

It is therefore vital that you update your mobile number if it has recently changed on the following link
